Create a Facebook page for your business

Written by

As I mentioned above, Facebook accounts must be created and owned by an individual, so if you want to get your business on Facebook, first you must sign yourself up for a Facebook account.  Once you have a Facebook account, you can create pages for businesses and organizations.  A business page can

be ‘liked’ by customers or employees, and the number of people who like a page is sort of a social reinforcement about buying from the business.  The modern economy is about connecting with your consumer, and a well utilized Facebook page will be useful, informative and fun in order to drive repeat visits from your customers, and hopefully repeat buyers to your business.
To get started setting up your business Facebook page:
Browse to www.facebook.com & sign in.
To create a page, on the left hand side of your Facebook page click the orange flag.
Facebook will ask you to pick a category to classify your business. There are six different options to choose from.

Fill in your business or company name, and location. Make sure the name you put down is the correct name because once you complete this section there is no changing it.

Upload a photo or logo that goes with your company.

Start filling in your company information.  Be sure to put your company’s URL in the about section, your operating hours, and contact information.  Then, when you have your information in you can click on the “Get started” button to start adding friends, and post your first status.

Lastly, don’t forget about the “View Insights” tab where you can track how many people visited your page, and liked your page.
