A lot of people just don’t get Twitter. I am often asked “who has the time to read what everyone else has to say.” I will admit that even I thought Twitter was very overwhelming at first. Twitter is actually quite simple in concept: you may have something to say and things you have to learn about. Search for terms, and you can read what other people are saying.
To get started with Twitter:
Browse to www.twitter.com and click on “Sign up”
Enter your information and click “create my account”
Twitter will show you how your tweets will look and you can click next in the left corner to continue.
Twitter will ask that you to select at least 5 topics you are interested in following. Once you found 5 topics, click next.
The next step is to add contacts through Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and AOL. If you selected one of the four, Twitter will ask you to sign in so it can bring up your contacts. Once they are brought up you can go ahead and select the contacts you wish to invite. If you are not interested in adding your contacts you can simply click skip this step down at the bottom.
Twitter will than take you to your homepage where you can see tweets from the pages you chose to follow.
In the upper left corner under the home tab, click on view my profile. This will take you to your profile, once there in the upper right corner click on edit your profile. From here you can add a photo, put your location in, website, and Bio of your business/company. Once you are finished you can click save, then click Home at the top of the page.
